OUR TAKE

This electric mountain bike offers a lot of performance and versatility too. Situated at the bottom center of the bike, the Bafang mid-drive motor isn’t just ultra powerful, it also keeps the center of gravity low to the ground. This creates a sharper ride versus traditional hub motors, and feels very connected to pedal inputs on the 9-speed Shimano drivetrain.

Further contributing to its agility is a tapered head tube and full-suspension frame, highlighted by the pivot-linkage rear EXA spring. To really enhance its mountain bike feel, you can upgrade to plus-sized 27.5” x 3.0” MTB tires, or keep the stock 26” x 4.0” fat bike setup for more shock absorption on off-road trails and different terrains like snow or sand.

The FAT-HS-S comes in medium (17”) and large (19”) sizes, suiting riders from 5’3 to 6’4. An optional 14Ah secondary battery is available for both sizes while the larger 17Ah battery only fits the large 19” frame, with the rear suspension locked-out. Although the included 15Ah battery is adequate, it’s advisable to opt for the additional battery if you want longer rides especially in challenging terrain.

Bafang M615 BBSHD 1,000W Mid-Drive Motor – Bafang is world-renowned for its high quality e-bike motors! The FAT-HS comes with a low, center-mounted mid-drive unit that makes enormous power: 1,000 Watts nominal, 1,500 Watts peak and 160 Nm of torque.

Removable Dual Battery System – A game changer that offers longer range and convenience when re-charging. The FAT-HS comes with a 15Ah battery, neatly integrated in the downtube, and you can choose to add a second 14Ah or 17Ah battery for up to 130 km of range in total. All batteries are removable with a simple twist of the key, so you can charge them indoors and prevent theft.

Shimano 9-Speed Drivetrain – A cut above other cassettes, the Shimano MTB derailleur offers better, smoother shifting and 9 gears to effortlessly adapt to diverse terrains. Climb hills with larger cogs, speed up with smaller cogs, and take your adventures to the next level with pedal-assisted throttle.

Hydraulic Disc Brakes with 180mm Rotors – Experience supreme braking power and control thanks to large 180mm front & rear rotors. The brakes are sensitive and provide ample force to slow you down. They maintain their efficiency even in harsh weather conditions so you can rely upon them to ensure your safety. They also have a motor cut-off switch to disengage the motor while the brakes are applied.

RST Guide 75mm Suspension Fork – Effectively absorbs most jarring bumps and shocks, especially on the rougher terrains you will encounter on this e-bike. Greatly improves comfort and handling while reducing fatigue.

Exa KS388 RL 48m Rear Suspension – The rear coil suspension is designed to significantly cushion rough terrain and drops, creating a stable feel that allows you to pedal and throttle forward with ease. It greatly enhances the bike’s high-performance characteristics and makes the journeys more comfortable too. 

LED Headlight – Powered using the main battery pack and controlled by the display. Efficient electric lights ensure your riding safety at night, never having to worry about charging or replacing its batteries at the end of a long day.

Mountain Bike Cockpit – A wide handlebar and MTB grips offers more control, and more confidence when riding. Everything from the thumb throttle, pedal-assist selector, shifter and brakes is conveniently located at your fingertips, and combined with a bright center-mounted LCD display, you can just focus on the terrain ahead and enjoy the ride!
